Valerie M. Logsdon received her law degree from the University of
California, Hastings College of Law. Upon graduation,
she served with the Federal Emergency Management
Agency ("FEMA") where she acquired skills and
experience dealing with government agencies in
difficult circumstances. The essence of her work was
problem-solving in the challenging context of
government bureaucracy.Her government experience
has served Gilfix & La Poll Associates clients
well. Ms. Logsdon has enjoyed consistent success in
both court and
administrative law venues. A persistent and tenacious
advocate, she has experience working with clients who
face tax, public benefits and health care challenges.
She has a strong affinity for our clients, enjoying
the very personal nature of our work.
Ms. Logsdon enjoys making a difference in our
society. She has served many public non-profit
organizations, including the Hospital Relief Fund for
the Caribbean, Lawyers for Tibet, and the Sierra Club
Foundation. She worked as Grants Manager for the
Sierra Club Foundation, which grants charitable funds
to a political, 501(c)(4) organization.
Ms. Logsdon has contributed to the Elder Law
Newsletter and works with Mr. Gilfix on annual updates
to the nationally distributed Tax, Estate &
Financial Planning for the Elderly: Forms and Practice
(Matthew Bender), primarily authored by Michael
Gilfix.
